| The Augusta International Raceway Memorial, located at Diamond Lakes Regional Park, is a massive granite structure that was placed in 2004. This ten foot tall monument had its fourth expansion placed on June 1, 2007. During its initial stages this memorial is capturing the rich racing heritage of the former Augusta International Speedway six track racing complex. Future expansions will document motorsports heritage from the United States as well as on a global basis as we develop the "Children's Outdoor Reading Area". Funding for this memorial project depends solely on private and corporate donations through 501C3 non profit status of the Augusta International Raceway Preservation Society (AIRPS). No public tax funding is available. AIRPS encourages corporations and citizens to become involved in the largest public motorsports memorial project in the country.
